Frequently Asked Questions

General

What is the purpose of the Agent Portal?
The Agent Verification Portal is designed to support organisations signed up to Glow Data Service who are working with their energy consumers on site. The Portal facilitates the process of obtaining verification and consent to onboard users in real-time.
What is the difference between the two onboarding journeys presented?
Onboarding an energy consumer using the Agent Verification Portal can occur either completely on-site, or as a two-phase process where verification documents are remotely uploaded and then consent is granted during a site visit.
How can new agent logins be added to our organisation?
If you require additional Agent logins, please contact support@glownetzero.com with the email of each Agent. Ensure each Agent has been trained about their responsibilities and signed an NDA or equivalent.
What do I need before making a site visit?
A phone or tablet that can be used to access the Agent Portal remotely, a device that can take pictures on site and printed copies of the Shared Consent Form, generated and provided to your organisation by Glow.

Verification

I can’t upload a meter or IHD photo - what do I do?
If you cannot upload a meter or IHD photo, you can upload an additional document instead. See further FAQ for supported types.
Do I have to upload both a meter photo and an additional document?
An additional document is only required if a meter photo either cannot be provided or cannot be successfully read by our systems. An additional document is also requested automatically if a property has a SMETS1 meter. This is because SMETS1 meters do not have the unique information we require for verification visible, while SMETS2 meters do.
How do I know if a document is within a valid date?
Utility bills, bank statements and energy bills must be dated within the last three months. Council tax bills must be dated within the past 12 months, and tenancy agreements and drivers licences must be valid and must not be expired.
The energy consumer on site is not the energy bill payer, how can I verify them?
Have the energy consumer produce a different valid document that names them as a resident of that property.
If I upload a verification document remotely, how do I get consent for it later?
Verification and consent capture can be completed as either a one-step, on-site process, or a two-step process where verification documents are uploaded remotely in advance and consent is captured during a later site visit.
How long is a successful verification valid?
A completed verification is valid for 3 calendar months from the date it was generated. If consent is not obtained from the energy consumer within that time period the verification will expire and the verification process will have to be repeated.

Consent

How long is consent valid?
Consent is valid for 18 months. It can be revoked at the request of the energy consumer at any point and they should be advised how they revoke consent as part of the site visit
Does consent renewal require a site visit?
No, as long as consent has not expired or been revoked, it can be renewed for a further 18 months without requiring a site visit.

Hardware

How do I add a CAD to a property?
A Glow CAD can be associated to an energy consumer’s account once the onboarding has been completed and they have given consent for their data to be accessed. You will then be given the option to add a Glow CAD.
Can I join a CAD to a property later on?
No, as long as consent has not expired or been revoked, it can be renewed for a further 18 months without requiring a site visit.
